How do I upload my own symbol list to the MadScan Application?
Answer
You can upload you symbol list to madscan in 2 ways.
Self Help Solution:
Method 1 To upload via csv file - please make sure you have the csv saved to your
computer (one symbol per cell and only use the 1st excel column). From the small
rectangular window (main madscan window) select tools ---> symbol list---> load
from csv----> select the csv file-----> ok/save----> select apply. Your symbols
have now been uploaded to you madscan folder. You can always edit the symbols in
that folder once you have a folder uploaded to madscan, by selecting symbol list
and then add or remove symbols. Remember always select apply before editing anything
in your folder. To only scan those symbols, in the right click inside the alert
window---> select scan settings---> lists (from the tabs on left)----> select the
list you want to use for this alert window. Repeat process for additional symbol
lists. Method 2 To Upload from text file - add symbols to a text file, one symbol
per line (no coma needed), name the file. From the small rectangular window (main
madscan window) select tools ---> symbol list---> load from text file----> select
the text file-----> ok/save----> select apply. Your symbols have now been uploaded
to you madscan folder. You can always edit the symbols in that folder once you have
a folder uploaded to madscan, by selecting symbol list and then add or remove symbols.
Remember always select apply before editing anything in your folder. To only scan
those symbols, in the right click inside the alert window---> select scan settings--->
lists (from the tabs on left)----> select the list you want to use for this alert
window. Repeat process for additional symbol lists.

How can exclude specific symbol or exclude a list of symbols?
Answer
After you have uploaded or created a symbol list you may use this list to exclude
the symbol or symbols in the list (please look at our self help solution on how
to upload a symbol list)
Self Help Solution:
Open a Signal Scan window -> Tools -> Scan Settings -> List (tab) -> check off Exclude
lists and drop down the list name you would like to exclude
How can I save my entire layout?
Answer
Yes you can save your enitre MadScan layout as a file

From the main MadScan window -> File -> Save Layout as a file
How can I save a single scan I configured
Answer
Yes this is done from the signal scan window that you would like to save.

Why do I get an Error 339 when you attempt to log-in to madscan
Answer
MadScan does not have the right to run as Administrator
Self Help Solution:
Simply right click the madscan desktop icon, select properties -> compatibility
-> make sure you have run as system administer checked of, select apply and your
done.
Why do i get the error "Failed to load control 'Winsock' from MSWINSCK.OCS.
Your version of MSWINSCK.OCX may be outdated." when I attempt to log in to MadScan.

Your MSWINSCK.OCS file is out of date
Self Help Solution:
Download the lastest version of MSWINSCK.OCS to C:\Windows\System32
Now register the file to windows Start -> Run regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\mswinsck.ocx
When I try to log in to madscan it say logging in please wait?

Sometimes this is due to a anit-virus software not trusting MadScan (for example
Norton Anti-Virus or Mcafee Anti-Virus)

Open you Anti-Virus software and look in the trusted program tab and make sure MadScan
software is trusted

My loaded symbol list from a file is not being read by signal or filter list
scans.
Answer
Check the text file and make sure you only have one symbol per line with a return
and only real stock symbols

1. remove the old symbol list from MadScan. (you need to make sure that you unchecked
off any scans that are using this list for the symbol list to be removed) 2. Edit
the text file, that will be uploaded to Madscan, and make sure it has not extra
returns and tabs after each symbol. 3. Upload it to MadScan
Why when I open up an Esignal chart and is only displayed an "X" in the new
window
Answer
You may not have Java installed
Self Help Solution:
1. If java is installed enable java to automatically start in the services (this
is located in your computer's control panel -> Administrator Tools) 2. If Java is
not installed download and install Java http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
SIGNALS AND CHARTING
I am not getting any signal alerts coming though my news signal scan window
Answer
One of the most common mistakes people make is select the news that they want to
see and don't select any signals for the news. The only way you will be alerted
to any news is if you have signals selected on the signals page

Check your signal settings and make sure you have at least one signal alert selected
I am only able to select 1 signal at a time

If you are only able to select 1 signal at a time this is most likely because you
are on the madscan free version. While madscan offers a free version, it is limited
to 1 signal at a time, 1 alert window and 1 exchange. If you would like to be able
to select multiple signals or run multiple scan windows please upgrade your account.

Under the Tools tab in a Signal Scan filter window what is the option "Duplicate
Alerts"?

When this is Duplicate Alerts is checked off you will only get additional alerts
for the signal and the same stock after 60 seconds has elapsed.
Self Help Solution:
Simply select this option to reduce duplicate signals for the same stock with in
60 second time period from the last signal generated.
